I visited the RNC / GOP web sites and the screaming front page says “FIRE PELOSI”.
Now that sure is a great platform to stick there!
I don’t know about you but I would much rather see something constructive on the front page and then I would like to see the same on all the GOP sites around the country.
How about this:
- Repeal the Health Care Bill
- Drill for oil – keep our money here – Don’t give the oil away
- Get Jobs Fired UP
- Cut the deficit
- Get rid of Illegal Invaders
- NO TO amnesty
- DO HEALTH CARE THE RIGHT WAY
Then put it all in WRITING and sign it.
I took a little time to look at the people that voted for and against the Healthcare mess.
I’ve even read a little of the posting on the web of the bill. Then I took 4 aspirins, put a cool cloth on my head and took a nap. I could understand a very little bit because it’s written that way.
You know why I type. I type because my handwriting is written rotten. Hmmm. Sounds like what I tried to read.
What I have learned, over the last year, listening to ABC, CNN, CBS, NBC and Fox, is that the bill was a stupid, over blown bunch of hogwash that lies and spends too much money and will not accomplish what Mr. Obama wants. (Or is it Madam Pelosi and Mr. Reid?) POWER TO THE GOVERNMENT!
Check out these three definitions I gleamed from the Net.
Socialism – a political theory advocating state ownership of industry
Communism – a form of socialism that abolishes private ownership
Republic – democracy: a political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them (The U.S. is a Republic)
Read them carefully and think about how the government owns General Motors (GM), part of the financial industry and now they think they own the healthcare system. Think about how the Federal Government will have the IRS (tax collectors) check YOU OUT to make sure you buy health insurance. If you don’t buy it the IRS will fine you. If you buy the best insurance there is they will fine you.
Will taxes go up? Probably! There is talk that if I bust my A**, work hard and am very successful I will have to pay more in taxes. So why should I work? Isn’t that the American Dream? Not any more! Go back up and read the three definitions.
On top of all that the only way the bill was passed was by making last minute deals like and Executive Order for Representative Stupak. It’s a nice way to get something done without having the Congress approve it. (Republic, remember?) Did you know that immediately after and Executive Order is signed it can be rescinded? Mr. Stupak may have been made a jerk of, but, only time will tell for sure. Mr. Stupak threw away 30 years of service based on that promise! I sure would not have, especially, the word of a President that lies. (Transparency and bi-bipartisan)
Go back and read those definitions. What do you think?
I am 62 and for the first time in my life I am scared for you and me and the United States of America.
One last thing. I WANT the IRS to come after me for not purchasing insurance. They will have a fight on their hands.
And that’s my view.
Well Congress has done it. For the first time, in my lifetime, the strongest, best economy in the world is in trouble. Is the because of the current administration? Partially, however, it has taken years to get to this point – years of spending, by the Government, using Credit. Credit?
Hey, wait a minute! It seems to me that the very same Government said that our current financial situation is because we, you and I, over spent using credit.
I, personally, have NO credit cards and the only thing I presently owe on (credit) is the vehicle sitting in my driveway. I have stopped buying on credit! Have you? If you and I can stop whey can’t the Federal Government?
I’ve been reading a whole bunch of websites that are reporting what Moody’s Investors Service reported and it looks to me like we WILL lose that AAA rating IF THE HEALTHCARE BILL PASSES.
So, why move forward with it? It’s a power trip by the Administration and the two congressional leaders, Sen. Reid and Rep. Pelosi.
You know – we the people can stop this madness right now and actually quite easily. How? Telephone calls and Faxes!! I prefer the fax method because I set it up and let it fly! There is a paper trail and phone records that the fax was received. It’s easy and if we ALL do it we can burn up a couple of fax machines.
Keep records – to whom you faxed and when – ask for an email response and record that also.
And that’s my view.
Every time I turn around and look at a variety of polls regarding the Health Care mess, I see roughly the same result. The Citizens of the United States do NOT want the current bill (or is it bills today?) and they want the whole thing thrown in the trash.
Do you agree?
I would be interested in seeing some discussion here as this is a touchy topic and there are many different views.
But, here is what I think.
1 – get rid of the 2,000 plus pages of junk
2 – make changes, ONE at a time without adding anything in – earmarks
3 – drop the barriers for cross border insurance sales
4 – stop the stupid drug advertisements that try to sell you a drug that will “stop the itch” but kill you. Drugs should be the doctor’s choice.
5 – put a reasonable cap on law suit awards
6 – don’t touch Medicare or Medicaid
It seems to me that none of that will cost anyone anything but should reduce rates by a good margin.
And that’s my view
President Barack Obama recently signed the Veterans’ Emergency Care Fairness Act of 2009. The new law will enable the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to reimburse veterans enrolled in VA health care for the remaining cost of emergency treatment if the veteran has outside insurance that only covers part of the cost. Previously, VA could reimburse veterans or pay outside hospitals directly only if a veteran has no outside health insurance.
A few days ago the President announced he wants a bipartisan meeting to discuss healthcare among other topics. I don’t know!? He claims it will be to discuss openly and hear all sides and hear different suggestions, plans etc.
After he made that announcement he said the healthcare bill, that most of us don’t want and are wary of, will be the starting point. That sure does not seem very open.
Take all of the 2,700 pages of that bill and all of the copies and you can probably burn them all and heat a lot of homes for a day or so. Put it to good use!
Start that whole process over again and do the entire things in pieces that make sense and would accomplish what everyone (?) wants without spending any money. How?
1 – Start with opening up competition in the insurance industry by dropping the restrictions for crossing state borders. Put that into law, and ONLY THAT, and watch costs. They will probably drop much the same way that auto insurance dropped.
2 – Eliminate ALL coverage for ILLEGAL INVADERS of our country. These people are draining the resources of healthcare providers all over the country. Gee, I do believe that would save some money.
3 – Stop Drug company Television ads. – You must have seen some of these ads. They offer you a drug to stop one thing but the side effects can kill you. Say what? These are dangerous. No TV ads, medicine prices drop and medicine will be more available to more people.
3 –Cap on malpractice awards. Some of the awards are justified but maybe the amounts are not. If this is capped the insurance the doctors have to purchase (passing that on to patients) will cost less thereby reducing doctor costs – help more people.
4 –Reduce fraud in Medicare & Medicaid saving money. I have read and heard of huge payments being made for people that passed away fifteen or more years ago. I am pretty sure those people are not using the services. The last time I looked, October 2009, Medicare fraud is costing $60,000,000,000.00 per year. Medicaid dollars are kept by individual states but the numbers I have seen are staggering. Reduce this and guess what – MONEY SAVED and more people covered!
5 – Make English our National language. Now at first glance people think “what has that have to do with reducing costs for healthcare?”.
A reasonable question. When was the last time you read instructions for medications in 2, 3, 4, 5 languages. It seems to me that it costs something to translate and print all that stuff. Another thing, my blood pressure would not rise when trying to find the English part of the triple fold out paper with print so small (because of all the languages?) because it would all be English.
You know, read these again and think about each one. Some side affects might even be JOB CREATION!
THAT IS WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN AT THE SUMMIT!!
And that’s my view.
Seems to me that our “leaders” in Washington DC are enjoying playing games with us and the future of the United States. Here are some ideas that would accomplish what we want and guess what – they sure don’t cost too much.
Healthcare
1 – Cross State Border Health Care – Set it up similar to the Auto Insurance companies. With the increase in competition it is only logical that the costs will drop. This allows more people to purchase health insurance.
2 – Stop the Drug company Television ads. Have you seen them? Listen to the damages that drugs do. An example: To stop itching take this pill. Side effects are ulcers, high blood pressure, blindness and possibly death. Isn’t that a stupid thing? Let the doctors take care of medicines, NOT the drug companies. No TV ads, prices drop. Prices drop and more of the good medicine will be more available to more people.
3 – Put a cap on malpractice awards. This will cut the amount doctors must pay for insurance thereby reducing the cost to visit a doctor making more doctors available to help more people.
4 – Put more “checks and balances” into the federally run, and state run, medical services to eliminate fraud. Not enough is being done to accomplish that. Reduce the fraud and the costs will be reduced. Costs are reduced and more people can afford it.
Job Creation
1 – NO ILLEGALS working in our country. Get those jobs to the citizens of the United States. Wow, Job Creation!
2 – STOP importing foreigners to take the jobs of the citizens of the United States.
Wow, Job Creation!
3 – STOP companies from outsourcing American Jobs to foreign countries. What the heck? Make a call for tech support or for other purposes and you will probably spend ½ of your time asking the person to repeat what they say anyway. Stop Outsourcing and guess what – JOB CREATION!
4 – DON’T tax the people that have the money to expand their business and hire people. JOB CREATION!
Economy
1 – You will like this one! This one item could reduce the federal budget, the budget of every state, the budget of thousands of companies and the budget of healthcare providers and pharmaceutical companies. MAKE ENGLISH OUR NATIONAL LANGUAGE and stop all of the requirements for duplicate forms, booklets, letters, instructions and what else? This alone will cut billions of dollars from the combined companies, states and so on. Oh, it would also eliminate the very annoying Press 1 for English messages. If people are living in the United States of American they MUST be able to speak English.
2 – DRILL FOR OUR OIL – China is taking our oil why don’t WE take it instead? That would save about $750 billion annually by cutting our dependence on Foreign Oil. It would also increase Jobs.
3 – USE COAL – With the technology we have available today coal burns much cleaner than most people realize. Cuts dependence on Foreign Oil and increases Jobs.
4 – STOP FUNDING COUNTRIES THAT DON’T LIKE US – What’s up with that? We send money to countries that thank us by bombing our embassies, military ship and OUR country. Reroute that money to improve our border security, port security and airport security.
Do you realize that everything above COSTS ZERO DOLLARS, Nada, Nichts, Rien, Niets, Niente, 没什么, 沒什麼. Doesn’t that look dumb?
If you look closely a good number of the points sorta go across the lines. Increasing jobs will always help the economy. Helping the economy helps reduce the deficit. Spending money here, instead of abroad, to buy oil also helps reduce the deficit. There is probably more but I am just a dumb kid from Long Island.
And that’s my view.
